Mediterranean diet – the secret of longevity

Mediterranean diet has proven to be one of the most balanced and healthy diets in the world. This diet is characterized by the nutrition habits that the inhabitants of Crete and southern Italy had, from the early 1960's. The great popularity of this diet is based on studies which have shown that people who live around the Mediterranean have longer average lifespan and are less likely to develop heart problems or other chronic diseases.
